Hey, someone saying something good about UGA!

January 11, 2010

Just not about the football team. But it’s worthy of your attention. Coach John Calipari of Kentucky said the following about Georgia and Mark Fox:

I don’t know if there’s a more improved team in the country. Mark is probably, my vote would be, midseason coach of the year to get his team doing the things that they’re doing. You talk about Leslie and Thompkins, they’re as good as we’ve played against.

Read that last line, folks. “They’re as good as we’ve played against.” For the record, Kentucky has played (to date) Stanford, North Carolina, UConn, Indiana and Louisville, and come away with wins against all. Out of those teams, John Calipari says that Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins are as good as anyone they’ve played. That should say something to you about what Mark Fox is doing with what he’s inherited.

The players are doing their part, dawg fans. We need to do ours. Paul Westerdawg urges you all to get out to Stegeman on Wednesday night, and I plan on answering the call. We nearly saw an upset of the #3 team in the country on Saturday, and Wednesday, we’ll get another shot at an upset as the #14 Ole Miss Rebels come to town. Don’t miss it.
