That Paul Johnson sure is making a splash

The departures at Terrorist Tech (Dwyer, Morgan, Burnett, Thomas) got me looking to see how they were doing recruiting this year.  Their whopping 13 commits (only 4 of them rated better than 3 stars by rivals) rank them 43rd in the recruiting rankings. Now, just to put that in perspective, that’s 7th in the ACC, behind even N.C. State and Maryland.

And they just WON the ACC.

Now, I’ll give you that the recruit ranking system is imperfect, to say the least, but I think it’s fair to say that this just proves what we’ve known since Tech hired CPJ. Great football players don’t want to play in an triple-option-flexbone-whatever-the-hell-you-want-to-call-it-service-academy-offense, or get robbed and/or stabbed while going to the library.

Exactly right. With that said, I’ll give credit where credit is due and say that they’ll extract every ounce of potential from whom they get. Now, if CMR & Co. do the same, then the Dawgs will administer another @$$ kickin’ on ’em next November, thus making the world safe from communism once more.
